Colleen, thank you so much for reading and for your kind and thoughtful comment! I loved hearing how the essay resonated so much with you. I smiled the whole time I read it. It sounds like we are on the same wavelength! I felt that reading your posts as well. ✨ I love that about the bird app, and I’m excited for you to read “Women Who Run With the Wolves.” It’s so good.
I love this so much and the trails that it took you on. How beautiful that you were given that time alone as it was intended. I'm going to reflect on this as I think there is a prompt here for me. Thank you!
Thank you so much, Louise! 😊 I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the piece and found it thought-provoking. That time alone was indeed very special and transformative for me. If you haven't already, you might find "Women Who Run With the Wolves" inspiring. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it if you decide to read it.
You're welcome Jenn, I have Native American spirit guides, so I always find it fascinating when people visit sacred sites when I can't necessarily get to them myself. I have read that book and I would love to revisit it as it's not that fresh in my mind. I'll have to wait as I'm in between houses at the minute, but I'll dig it out when I can. Thank you for the reminder.
Oh Jenn, you have the MAGIC going on! What an amazing set of synchronistic experiences. I had a copy of "Women Who Run With the Wolfs" very long ago; I don't believe I was ready for it. I just ordered a copy 😎
Thank you for reading and sharing, Tania! I’ve heard that from people a lot about that book. It’s so interesting how people know if they’re ready for it or not. It took me six months after buying it to feel like I was ready. And then BAM. 💥 It’s my absolute favorite book. I have a feeling you’re gonna love it!
Wow, what a beautiful read again Jenn. I could feel the emotions, how you describe running back up to the cave, the sunset, the bird... Magical moments nature gives us, as long as we take the time to get still, listen and enjoy.
Aww, thank you so much for this comment, Marie. I'm glad you connected with this essay. It was definitely a good thing I didn't have my headset OR an internet connection--so I couldn't be distracted on Substack haha.
I am slooowwwwlllyyy making my way through Women Who Run with the Wolves. That La Loba story is one of the only ones I’ve read. I loved what you said about following your intuition feels like not stepping on toes of the universe. That is such a beautiful way to put it. I want to get better at it, too 🩷
Haha, going slowly can be good, too! I rushed through at times and ended up forgetting that I’d even read the La Loba story. The book taught me a lot about intuition. Now, practicing following it has become a continual process. I hope the book helps you too!
“The world (is indeed) full of magic things!!’ (One of my favorite quotes).
I am So happy I picked this post to start with!!!
What a glorious story you’ve told here. ✨So beautiful to read.
Beyond this pleasure, were goosebumps for all the synchronicities I share with you.
Sedona is one of my very favorite places.💕I’ve visited 3x now & I live in Buffalo, NY.
I can’t believe I haven’t visited this cave.
It’s a must now. (So grateful to know about it.)
As is to read “Women who run with the Wolves” (which I’ve had at my bedside for a couple months now.)
More than this though, I love the way you look at the world.
I too had lost touch with my intuition.
I too feel most Alive when I’m remembering to nurture my soul self, be present, to magic, to my senses, express my creativity, look to nature for guidance & rhythms.
Also, the birds!!! Would you believe me if I told you I’ve been using this “Merlin” app for about 6-8 months now (it IDs birds by their song) & I’m obsessed?!
I finally looked in to it & found, just as you did, the link to the parasympathetic nervous system and it all made perfect sense.
What you’ve weaved here with myth, & lyric, prose & the use of imagery & story is stunning. Thank you. 🥰
'Could this really be just a coincidence? My body knew instantly that it wasn’t.' - I had the exact same feeling recently. A few days after posting a Substack about authenticity and accepting your 'weird' I listened to a writing podcast that happened to fall into the exact same topic and sentiment. It had me feeling that I was where I was supposed to be. Love your story and beautiful location ❤️
I love that you had that same feeling recently, Tania! It’s so wonderful to get those confirmations that we’re on the right path. And I want to read what you wrote about authenticity. I’ll look for it in the morning. ☺️
Absolutely beautiful 🥹🥹🥹 how this is written, the experience, the myth and how you blend them all together!
“What does it mean to sing over different bones of our life?” - love this section about the myth, spoke loudly to me in this time of my life trying to reconnect with my old self and trying to breathe life back to my present self that have been in the darkness since moving here.
I'm so glad it resonated with you, Janice! You might really connect with the book like I did. I hope you can find the ways that work for you to breathe new life and light into yourself. I'm in this with you! Thanks so much for reading and commenting. ✨
This is beautiful. I also was introduced to that book last summer through another convention (having forgotten seeing it at the teahouse until just now) and listened to an adjacent audiobook which featured the myth of La Loba. It keeps popping up. Maybe it's time to read the real thing myself 😊
I'm so happy you're here, Andrew! How fun that the book keeps popping up for you. Follow the synchronicities! ;) I'd be interested to hear your take on the book after you read it.

Wonderfully expressed, Jenn! You write beautifully - and I love the insights that you share! ♥
Thank you! I appreciate you reading.
Beautiful!!! I loved reading this Jenn! Thank you for the nudge ... I need to 'go gather bones' 🦴 🦅
Thank you for reading, Sally Ann! I'm glad it resonated.
