The Audacity.
Hello, friends—
I have another essay out to share, published yesterday by Roxane Gay in The Audacity’s Emerging Writer Series.
Seven years ago, the person I was couldn’t have imagined the choices I write about here or telling this story publicly at all. Sometimes a series of small decisions adds up to becoming someone new: the kind of person with the audacity to put it all out there.
I’m grateful to Roxane and her co-editor, Meg Pillow, for seeing the beauty in “Ombré” and helping me share it. You can read it here.
Thanks for reading,

Loved this one too, Jenn! I felt the tension so vividly. I initially thought the story might unfold into a classic ex-wife/ex-girlfriend dynamic, and I loved how much deeper the tension traced through your relationships. The ombré metaphor throughout is lovely — how transitions can be messy and beautiful at the same time. Looking forward to reading more of your essays. Krisztina W
